Murdered Heiress - Living Witness
Published in Paperback by New Wine Ministries (1988)
Author: Petti Wagner
Average review score:

God is amazing!
I just read the Chinese version, and I just spent about 3 and a half hours to finish this book in the midnight. I just don't want to go to sleep before finish it, it is such a great testimoney!

Why Doesn't This Book Have More Exposure
Okay. This book by Petti Wagner is what the hottest fiction is made of. The intrigue, action and wacko plot is just what people clamor for.

After all, I have yet to read a fiction or sci fi story about a very wealthy woman who is an heiress to a fortune of a company that is a household name.

A story about this heiress arising to greatness and accomplishment that most of us only dream of.

A story about this heiress with numerous inventions and successful businesses to her credit with everything going her way.

Until some of her employees decide to take it for themselves.

So they torture and murder her.

But what they did not expect is that she comes back from the dead to bring restitution on them!!!!!

Have YOU ever read a fiction book like that?

Well, if you read this one, you still will not have. You see, this book is TRUE!!!!!

We have friends that know the pastor that wrote the forward of this book in Texas. He has since passed away- John Osteen- but if he endorsed this book, it is genuine and true.

I first heard Petti's story in a radio interview and was laughing so hard at the wacky details that I just HAD to get the book. Such a crazy story HAD to be true. Not even the greatest fiction writers have created such a fascinating and interesting story.

Get this book and read it. You will want to read it again. It is just too amazing to put down. It is an easy book to read. Lots of action and keeps your attention. ....

This book should be on the best sellers list. A story like this DESERVES recognition.

GREAT!!
This book is so awesome! If you want to read a book about victory, this is the book for you. This book describes how the Trinity can be very personal. God is not just somewhere out there. He's right here, with you, every step of the way. Jesus becomes so personal and real in this book that it is extremely touching and emotional. When I read this book, I cried in different parts. This is definitely without a doubt, one of the best books I have ever read. It is not a hard read, but just very touching. A definite 5 stars!

Heretical Wisdom : The Truths From Within
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (10 January, 2001)
Author: Matthew August Petti
Average review score:

Highly recommended reading to students of metaphysics
In Heretical Wisdom: The Truths From Within, Matthew Petti provides a unique, informative, and occasionally iconoclastic survey of the stories of secular history and their relationship to the stories to be found in the Bible. Petti then offers the answers he has developed to the scientific mysteries baffling experts for centuries while provocatively connecting them to biblical accounts. The subjects and events addressed range from Neanderthal Man, the Great Pyramid, Sasquatch, and Angels, to The Lost Continent Of Atlantis, Creation, Noah's Ark, The Parting of the Red Sea, The Tower Of Babel, Jesus Christ, and UFOs. Heretical Wisdom is fascinating, original, and highly recommended reading to students of metaphysics, Biblical studies, and the nature of Absolute Truth.

Challenges Religious Belief Systems
Heretical Wisdom will take your mind to places you have never been. It will make you analyze your beliefs and consider new options. This is not light reading, this is based on many years of research.

If you are a Bible scholar, this book will tease your brain unmercifully and challenge your deductive reasoning powers. It will give you something to ponder, it will intrigue your sense of creativity and it will give you some enlightenment in various areas which until know have not really been explained. If on the other hand, you are not familiar with the Bible, this book will most likely make you go buy one so you can do a bit of your own research.

Matthew August Petti discusses many controversial subjects and tries to explain age-old scientific and religious mysteries through an imaginative process. He forms an unequal yolk between evolutionary science and creation.

What Matthew Petti's book does is it makes you think, it makes you wonder, it makes you imagine. It might even make you believe there is a God. What I find even more interesting is his awareness that a belief in God makes humans more intelligent.

Perhaps the author says it best: "To achieve accurate conclusions, we require correct premises. A search beyond our dogmatic religious convictions is entertaining to say the least. This book is Controversial, yet mind expanding. I recommended it for those who are curious, but already have their own belief systems to work from.

This is a highly intellectual work and was perhaps the most complex theory I have every read. I think sometimes it is best not to know everything. That leaves a bit of mystery to life and allows us to exercise our "faith." Science can't prove there is a God, but humans know it deep in their souls. They know that this is not the end of it all, they know that their souls are in fact, eternal.

The religious community will have a few disagreements about various biblical subjects. I did not agree with some of the theories and yet I enjoyed reading this work.

A Fascinating Read
Petti's curiosity, about the mysteries of both secular and biblical history and how they might be related, took him through the monumental task of writing a book that will challenge every reader to make a similar journey of discovery. Confusing notions about historical events, and the miscalculations resulting from them and stubbornly held to or half understood, will be shaken even further, after the reading of Petti's theories. Readers' personal beliefs, in the religious realm, will either be redefined or staunchly reconfirmed. Petti's theories do not stick to those presented by organized religions. They are profound and startling. They cause the reader to think about never-before-heard answers to such things as who built the Great Pyramid? What was the Lost Continent of Atlantis? Was the story of Noah real or imaginary? Who or what is Sasquatch? Are UFOs real or imaginary? Is there life on other planets? What is Absolute Truth? The Power of Faith?

Petti's book is fascinating reading . . . one man's version of the "inside story." I highly recommend it.

Ann Davis
There is such solidity to Michael D. Petti's writing...you can feel his wisdom and passion. This is a vigorous, arresting, highly recommended work. He creates poetry with skillful and impressive range.

Heartfelt and Sensual Inspiration
What can I say about Mr. Michael D. Petti's First Book of poetic inspirations? He has a distinct, fascinating, deeply sensual, romantic voice. His very soul journeys freely, through the mysteries of love and life in this, his Discovered World: A Poet's Intimate Portrait, from a man who understands about uncertainties, high demands, and the byways of commitments, affection, infatuation, illusion, lucidity, family and most of all...trust...surrender...and in these times of utter uncertainty: Mr. Michael D. Petti expresses in artful wonderment, the simple act of loving and giving the best of oneself for the rippling effect of cause and effect. He has always nurtured and encouraged my self-expression in poetry. I'm a big fan of his work.

Lover's Moon and Juniper: Poems to the Moon
Published in Paperback by PublishAmerica, Inc. (March, 2003)
Authors: Minerva T. Bloom and Michael D. Petti
Average review score:

Highly recommended read for all poetry lovers!
The Moon.

Its magic... Its mystery...Its moments of surreal and ethereal light transform the nighttime sky into a liquid silver of sensation and reflection. The Moon is the ever-present companion of Earth. She is as reliable in her orbiting diligence as she is fickle in her changing face.

Set upon a journey of poetic enchantment and revelation where this pristine world of the moon acts as a primal, integral part of the human psyche and the many layers of emotion. Lover's Moon and Juniper is an evocative collection of two voices and two styles harmoniously converging into one celestial object as a symbol for personal discovery of the heart--exploring the Moon's phases, viewed through lover's eyes.

Authors, Minerva T. Bloom and Michael D. Petti write with a passionate combination of free verse, Shakespearean and Petrarchian sonnets, haiku and villanelle, merging to celebrate the splendor of our moon and it's influence on Earth.

Since the very dawn of life on Earth, the Moon has been a source of natural rhythm; a forceful declaration for oceans, a calendar and guide for voyagers, an inspiration to lovers and poets alike. More than this, the Moon is cut from the vast, cosmological flesh of the universe itself. Her sight to human eyes is a joyous and serene drop of comfort in the enormous sea of the unknown. She comfortably weds our need to know and explore as human beings to the infinity of the unknowable and unreachable.

The Moon is the faithful partner of the Earth, the bearer of the Sun's brilliance, the supreme Siren of the Night. The Moon is the essence of shadow and light; history and myth; reality and dream. The Moon haunts and mesmerizes.

And, of course, the Moon is the sylphid maiden of love. She beckons those who fall beneath her spell of romantic vision. She seduces, a temptress, with the grace of serenity and silence. She sings in harmony with the emotional music of both desire and loneliness. The Moon embraces two loving partners in the same way She and the Earth have embraced for eons...

A highly recommended read, for all poetry lovers!

Depth, range and luminosity
Two poets here, with rare depth, range and power. These fine poems I've read and re-read. They delight and enlighten me. A wonderful book, vivid, passionate and moving. Both voices merge luminously, evoking the haunted quality of our carnal existence. Highly recommended!

The Volatility Machine: Emerging Economies and the Threat of Their Financial Collapse
Published in Hardcover by Oxford University Press (January, 2001)
Author: Michael Pettis
Average review score:

Exonerates the hedge funds
One of the most common (mis)interpretations of the east Asian currency crises of the late 1990s is that they were caused by George Soros and other speculators, hedge fund principals for the most part, who shorted those currencies and the respective bonds in order to create a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I was happy to se that Mr. Pettis knows better. He writes that he was in regular contact with three large macro hedge funds in 1997, in his capacity as an emerging markets specialist for Bear Stearns, "including the most famous of these, and our discussions about Asia generally centered on ways to gain protected access to LONG rupiah positions. There was very little interest in shorting the currency."

Indonesia and its rupiah provides a particularly vivid example of the capital structure trap that Pettis adumbrates so admirably in this book.

A refreshing view
Michael Pettis has succeeded in mystifying the collapse of EM economies. His approach is new and indeed very methodical. I found the book intellectually challenging and have learned quite a lot reading it. I highly recommend it for those who want to understand how LDC economies rise and fall. Having a background in corpporate finance is crucial to enjoying the book though.

Understand What's Happening In Emerging Markets
This is a MUST READ for institutional investors worldwide! For the first time I have a confident sense of what is at the core of emerging market instability. Now if only some government policy makers would read this (even they would understand it!), the causal conditions might start to improve.

Secrets of Sacred Space: Discover and Create Places of Power
Published in Paperback by Llewellyn Publications (February, 1900)
Author: Chuck Pettis
Average review score:

Secrets of Sacred Space
Chuck Pettis is keeping the tradition of sacred stone circles alive! This is a well-balanced book, taking either a traditional, scientific approach to sacred spaces, or encouraging people to create their own power centers. Secrets of Sacred Space is filled with photos, drawings, diagrams, and a brilliant color insert. If the geometry gets too overwhelming, you'll be comforted with the wisdom and history within. Ever wondered why certain place just don't feel right? Learn about negative energy and the good energy of power centers all over the world. Secrets of Sacred Space is your chance to re-connect with the earth.

Esoteric AND Practical
This is a book about the art and science of earth monuments. It is written in a friendly and accessible style with many rich anecdotes by a man who has committed many years to not only the study of sacred place, but to practical construction of new monuments. Surprisingly, it is not an exhaustive documentation or analysis of ancient sites, though there is some brief discussion of these. It is, first and foremost, a practical guide for those who wish to investigate the subtle aspects of place and to create sacred places today. For example, each chapter ends with a concise summary of the information covered in the chapter and a list of suggested exercises. The appendices include tables of the angles for significant solar and lunar events for several latitudes.

The most remarkable thing about this book is the seamless blend of the mystical with the mathematical. Chuck Pettis is a mathematician, but is also a well known dowser and ley line hunter. Expect to have earth angels and subtle energies explained in one breath, and the mathematics of planetary motion and symbolic geometry in the next. I am enthusiastic about this book. It has inspired me to begin design of my own stone circle. But I will admit a bias. I have had the pleasure of knowing the author personally for many years.

It changed the direction of my business
After reading Secrets of Sacred Space, I realized that my business name 'THE GEOMANCER' commanded that I learn much more about the spiritual side of geomancy. The book enlightened me in such a manner that I decided to re-direct my primary business focus of FENG SHUI to the crucial service of making sure my client's homes are 'healthy' to live in. It has also convinced me to begin meditation. Thank you Chuck, for your well-written guide. I urge others to read, learn and assist us in our quest for a healthier earth.

Technobrands: How to Create & Use "Brand Identity" to Market, Advertise & Sell Technology Products
Published in Hardcover by AMACOM (January, 1995)
Author: Chuck Pettis
Average review score:

Strong on branding, weak on selling technology
Mr Pettis does a fine job describing the positioning and branding needs of a high tech company. His advertising comments are somewhat dated by the current tech market space. But he misses the most important point on how to link these messages to actual sales. What we have learned in the dot com fallout is that branding is not revenue, advertising is not revenue, PR is not revenue, revenue is revenue.

This book is the bible of technology branding!
After doing a multitude of research on the subject of branding specific to technology products, I found very few established research results. However, Pettis' book accurately describes the differences between technology vs. consumer branding. In addition, he describes all of the steps you'll need to rollout an effective technobranding campaign, including how to get buy in from upper management. After speaking directly with branding managers from such major technology companies as Novell, I've found that TechnoBrands echoes their sentiments. TechnoBrands is a great book, and the authority on this subject.

This book is a MUST if you market/ make high tech products.
Reis & Trout's books are an excellent place to learn how to create a successful plan to market consumer products. Marketing technical products is similar, but definitely not the same. (See chapter 3.) "TechnoBrands" defines differences and provide practical advice. Chapter 6, for example, clearly explains how to crystalize your thoughts. Add your common sense and brutal honesty to precise and accurate information and you have the recipe for a successful marketing strategy.

Hippocrene Standard Dictionary Swedish English: English Swedish
Published in Paperback by Hippocrene Books (May, 1995)
Authors: Vincent Petty, Kerstin Petty, Vincent Petti, and Kerstin Petti
Average review score:

Last ditch choice for Swedish dictionaries
This should not be sold to English speaking learners. It is only for Swedes who are learning English. No noun declension, or verb declension is given in any detail at all - non existant. To use this dictionary in any effective manner at all, you would need to juggle a text-book/grammar primer, and the dictionary itself. Sure, the dictionary is cheap, but what you pay for is what you get. However, the question needs to be asked, what dictionary for English speakers learning Swedish is there, with proper noun and verb declension details?

Not for English speakers
As the introduction says, this book is intended for Swedish speakers who are learning English. It does not give Swedish noun declensions or verb tenses. Also, it gives the pronunciation of English words but not of the Swedish words. This book shouldn't be sold in US bookstores.

If you are learning Swedish, the Prisma dictionary is much more useful.

No gender indication for Swedish nouns
Indeed, this dictionary is quite useless for learning Swedish. Main flaw: no gender indication. Say, you want to translate "an oak". This dictionary won't give you a clue whether it is "en ek" or "ett ek". Also no plural forms are given. So for non-Swedish speakers, this is quite a waste of money.
